Barcelona vs Real Madrid Live: Club Friendlies LIVE – BAR vs RMA LIVE – Barcelona and Real Madrid start preparing for an eventful season with a friendly El Clasico in their pre-season campaign. La Blaugrana are coming on the back of a 5-3 defeat against Arsenal. Whereas, Los Blancos are coming on the back of two consecutive high-voltage wins. They managed to win 3-2 against AC Milan and then come out with a big 2-0 win against Manchester United. Both teams will be determined to get one up against their opponent before the season starts.

Barcelona ended last season with two trophies – Spanish Supercup and La Liga. They also reached the semi-finals of the Copa Del Rey, but they lost against Real Madrid. They got knocked out of the Champions League group stage. Then they were knocked out of the Europa League from the play-off round. Coach Xavi is determined to do much better than last season. However, their preparation has not gone well so far. So far, they have played two pre-season friendlies where they have won one and lost one match.
Their first friendly was against Vissel Kobe on 6th June, only days after last season ended. They won the match by a 2-0 margin. Their second pre-season friendly was set to be held against Juventus on July 22. However, a majority of the first-team unit fell sick and it was cancelled. Everyone has recovered from the viral gastroenteritis, but not in time before their match against Arsenal. They lost the match by a 5-3 margin. They will play AC Milan in a friendly, Tottenham Hotspur in the Joan Gamper Trophy before starting their La Liga campaign.
Real Madrid ended last season adding three more trophies to their cabinet. They won the Copa Del Rey, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. Their inconsistent performance in La Liga saw them end the season in 2nd position in the league table, 10 points behind the league leader, Barcelona. They also got knocked out of the Champions League after losing to Manchester City by a 5-1 aggregate margin in the semi-finals. They have reinforced the team with the inclusion of Jude Bellingham on a £103 million transfer fee.
Los Blancos have made a terrific start to their pre-season campaign. Even though they were 2 goals down in their first match against AC Milan, they pulled through. At the end of the official 90 minutes, they won the match by a 3-2 margin. Their second match was Man United who were on a winning streak. However, Real Madrid won against the Red Devils by a 2-0 margin. They will want to get a win over Barcelona before the season officially begins. They will then face Juventus before starting their La Liga campaign on 13th August.

- A number of Barcelona players fell sick due to viral gastroenteritis. Not all players recovered before their match against Arsenal, but they seem to have recovered now. Hence, coach Xavi will take full advantage of the entire squad available to him.
- Blaugrana only have one injury concern in the form of their new signing Inigo Martinez. The defender is yet to recover from his foot injury which has kept him from making his debut for his new club. The other injury concern was regarding Alejandro Balde. There was doubt regarding his ankle injury, but the player shook it off and appeared against Arsenal.
- Coach Xavi introduced Balde in the second half, so his injury should not be of any concern for El Clasico. Additionally, as Xavi will have the entire squad available to him, he could give most of the squad some playing time. Frenkie de Jong, Balde, Franck Kessie, Jules Kounde, and Ferran Torres will all be pushing for a start against Real Madrid.

- New arrival Jude Bellingham already made his debut against AC Milan and he impressed during their recent against Man United. On the other hand, their other arrival Arda Guler is yet to make his debut with thigh discomfort. Coach Ancelotti could still keep him on the bench to not risk the player. The teenage sensation could take some time before he is given playing time.
- The same could be said about Dani Ceballos. The midfielder is yet to recover from a hamstring issue. As per the severity of the injury, it will take him a few weeks to take to the field. Other than these two, the coach should have the rest of his squad available to him for their match against Barcelona. He could also use most of his squad for the match.
- The coach could make his choice of alterations throughout the match. Ancelotti introduced Andriy Lunin under the goalposts and the goalkeeper gave a proud performance as he didn’t let the Man United team get any past him. However, he would still need to make way for Thibaut Courtois, while Toni Kroos, Ferland Mendy, and Eder Militao could also be pushing for starts.
