In the 33rd minute of Saturday’s encounter in North London, the Colombian believed he’d put Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead when he beat Guglielmo Vicario with a crisp finish.
However, the assistant raised his flag practically immediately, and the goal was ruled out. Many questioned the judgement once Sky Sports replayed the event. It is understood that VAR examined the goal, but the green or red lines indicating whether Diaz was onside or not did not appear on the screen.
However, the viewers were enraged as VAR referees find themselves in hot water again.
