The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few months away. The 9th edition of the T20 World Cup will be the biggest tournament ever. As many as 20 teams will be participating in the tournament this time around. The tournament will be jointly hosted by West Indies and United States. 55 games are set to take place in the tournament. A total of 20 teams will take part in the T20 World Cup 2024. Matches will be played across nine venues in total. USA will have 3 venues – New York, Miami and Dallas with the other six venues being in the Caribbean.
T20 World Cup 2024 format
The tournament will be played in Round Robin format. 20 teams have been divided into four groups with each group consisting of 5 teams. Each team will play four matches in the group, with the top two teams with highest points qualifying for Super 8 stage.
The eight qualifying teams in the Super 8 stage will be divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from the two groups will qualify for the semi-finals with the two victorious semi-final teams going into the final for an epic showdown.
