Bronco Test came just for Rohit Sharma?
Former India batter Manoj Tiwary has claimed that the BCCI has introduced the Bronco Test to ensure that Rohit Sharma retires before the ODI World Cup 2027. He cited how, in the past several ageing cricketers were forced out by the introduction of new fitness tests like the Yo-Yo test, and now the same is happening to Rohit.
India without sponsor for Asia Cup
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed that the board and Dream11’s partnership as Team India’s title sponsor has ended. The deal was supposed to run until March 2026, but after the Online Gaming Bill 2025 was passed, the partnership ended prematurely. This means Team India might not have a sponsor for the Asia Cup.
Shreyas Iyer vs Shubman Gill
Manoj Tiwary thinks Shreyas Iyer should be India’s next ODI captain when Rohit Sharma either steps down or retires from the format. He thinks Shreyas can lead the Men in Blue for a long time. But realistically, what may happen is that Shubman Gill will take over since India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir prefers him over Shreyas.

AB de Villiers’ RCB return
AB de Villiers has hinted that he’ll return to IPL in the future. Of course, he won’t come back as a player since he’s retired. But ABD has kept the coaching and mentor door open. He’s not ready to commit right now but has confirmed that if and when he does, it’ll be for RCB.

Former Pakistan batter Basit Ali thinks Suryakumar Yadav might not be a dangerman for Pakistan in the upcoming India match at the Asia Cup. Surya has played 5 T20Is against Pakistan and averages a meagre 12.80. This includes three failures in T20 World Cups and two in Asia Cups.
