Rajasthan Royals stand-in captain Riyan Parag admitted that he was under a lot of stress during IPL 2025. The Assam all-rounder was forced to take over the reins of the team in most of the matches in the absence of Sanju Samson, who was battling multiple injuries. Parag, who was on the sidelines from October 2024 to January 2025 due to a shoulder injury, aims to make his return to international competitive cricket in the IND vs AUS series that will begin in October.

“Since the IPL, I haven’t really played any cricket. During the IPL, I was managing a lot of stress. I think it’s back to basics now. I took a break for my shoulder, and now the Ranji Trophy season is coming up, followed by the Australia tour in October,” Parag said.
Parag has been named in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad, as a reserve player. He last played for India in the T20I against Bangladesh in October 2024 following which he had to undergo a shoulder surgery.
