Washington Sundar might be up for a batting order change. Jasprit Bumrah has made himself available for the India vs West Indies Test series. Shreyas Iyer won’t be in the scheme of things in red-ball cricket. Sourav Ganguly has become the president of a cricket board. Ravichandran Ashwin is ready to double-dip. Lastly, Sanju Samson will be backed to the hilt by the current Indian management.

Former India batter WV Raman believes that Washington Sundar can be India’s Test number three for the upcoming West Indies Test series. In an exclusive chat with InsideSport, Raman highlighted how Sundar has the ability to be a top-order batter. He added that if Sundar plays at 3, India can play three other spinners.

Bumrah-Suthar

Jasprit Bumrah has made himself available for the India vs West Indies Test series. India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has also confirmed that Bumrah won’t be rested in any Asia Cup matches. Now, it’s up to the selection panel. Manav Suthar could earn his maiden Test call-up, and N Jagadeesan is expected to be the backup wicketkeeper.

Shreyas Iyer will be taking a break from red-ball cricket. The batter from Mumbai has informed BCCI about his decision, citing stiffness and fatigue issues in his back as the reason. This means that Shreyas won’t be in contention for the India vs West Indies Test series.

The former India captain held the position from 2015 to 2019, before leaving to become the BCCI President until 2022. Ganguly has returned after being elected unopposed and vows to bring more talent from Bengal to Team India.
