IND-W vs SA-W: Harmanpreet Kaur & Co eye Women’s World Cup 2025 top spot in Vizag

Team India will eye a spot at the top of the table when they face off against South Africa on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co have notched up back to back wins in the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025. The Women in Blue have yet to hit their best and will hope to do so on their return to Vishakapatnam after 11 years.

India eye hat-trick of wins at Women’s World Cup 2025

India have won both their games but have been far from convincing in either. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side collapsed against Sri Lanka losing 4 wickets for 6 runs. It was only a rescue act by Deepti Sharma and Amanjot Kaur that got them a winning score. Sharma was once again central in their win over Pakistan, but tougher opposition wait in South Africa.

The hosts had a preparatory camp in Vizag before the Women’s World Cup and would hope to use that to their advantage. Runs have been difficult to come by for their batters, and Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet both would hope to turn the screws a bit.

South Africa were bowled out for 69 vs England but have responded with a win over New Zealand. The Proteas however have lost their last 5 games against India, who will look to add to that number.

IND-W vs SA-W Pitch & Weather Report

The IPL saw Vishakapatnam serve an absolute run fest. However, the conditions have altered and it could be a long day on the field for either side. A score in the region of 270 is expected to be par, which would be among the highest in the tournament so far. There is a possibility of rain with brief showers two days before the game. It could be a stop start affair, making the toss crucial. DLS could very well come into play.
