Shreyas Iyer will be eyeing his first win as the new T20I captain as India take on England in the ENG vs IND 2nd T20I on Saturday. All eyes will be on Sanju Samson, who has suffered three back-to-back failures, putting himself at the risk of losing his spot in the playing XI. England have made two changes to their playing XI, with Jofra Archer making his return. In other news, Chennai is all set to host the BBL 2026 opener later this year. IND vs ENG 2nd T20I: Samson in focus
Sanju Samson ‘God mode’ in the final three must-win games in the T20 World Cup, following it up with a decent IPL 2026 as well. Yet, the Manchester T20I could be his do-or-die clash, with India finding it hard to keep Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at bay. The easiest thing for India would have been to make the emotional call. England have continued with their tradition of naming their team in advance. For the second T20I, England have revealed that they will be making two changes in the Manchester T20I, with pacer Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue replacing Luke Wood and Saqib Mahmood. In what turned out to be an eventful day at the auction table, all 8 teams managed to complete their squads of 20 for the upcoming season. Ashwanth Valthapa made history as he was bagged for a massive 14.45L to Chepauk. Other than that, there was Mukilesh U, who was bagged for a massive 13.7 lakh by NRK after an intense bidding war. BBL 2026 opener in India
The BBL’s India push looks like it’s actually happening now. Months after reports first emerged that CA was exploring the possibility of staging a BBL match in India, the teams for the historic fixture have now reportedly been finalised. Defending champions Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades will face off in the opening match of BBL 2026-27 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on December 12. Read more here.

Gurnoor Brar bags 4-fer vs SL-A
India A pacer Gurnoor Brar breathed fire against Sri Lanka A on Day 2 of the 2nd unofficial Test in Galle, finishing with four wickets to his name. The hosts, who resumed their innings at 288/5 at the start of play on Day 2, were bowled out for 366 runs within session 1, with the pacer from Punjab adding three more wickets to his tally. With his performance in the 1st innings, Brar has thrown his hat in the ring to the considered for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, especially since the India A tour serves as an audition stage for these upcoming talents. Sri Lanka battered by injuries
Sri Lanka are in big trouble as four players were ruled out of the WI vs SL 2nd Test. Lahiru Kumara, Vishwa Fernando, Ramesh Mendis and Pathum Nissanka are all out of the second Test in Antigua due to injury or illness.
